Sousveillance Grid

2005-2008

The Sousveillance Grid is an interactive installation designed to encourage community self-documentation. A streamlined visual wiki, in other words. Participants submit photographs from their cell phones and compete to annotate the resulting image pool, all via SMS. PHP & MySQL handle data while a linked Flash module controls display.

The Sousveillance Grid has been exhibited internationally and once appeared in The New York Times. It was last utilized 7/2008—10/2008 as part of SPECFLIC 2.5 in San Diego, California. Special thanks to Mike Countis, Adrien Jenik, and Calit2.
